Madder roots produce a variety of reds including orange reds, brick red, blood red and fiery reds.
Madder dye produces better colours in hard water. To achieve a good red it helps to add chalk in the form of calcium carbonate. Read about dyeing with madder here - http://www.wildcolours.co.uk/html/madder_dye.html.
Use the Orange menu to navigate to: 'Red dyes' then 'Madder dye'.
The chopped madder roots are weighed and sealed in a polythene bag.
